HUNDREDS of jobs will be created by an automotive supplier after it won a contract with Nissan.
Brose UK had already set up a new factory to deal with increased demand and will now make 300 positions available. It comes after a deal was signed to supply window regulators for the new Nissan Qashqai.
The 7,000 square metre base, on Courtaulds Way, will also help the firm cope with demand from other customers Jaguar Land Rover and Toyota.
The Exhall-based company said its workforce was set to rise to 800 in the next few years and would quadruple after the latest vacancies were filled.
Managing director Thomas Kohlbauer said: “The Nissan contract is the latest in a number of successes for our UK operation and reinforces investment in our operations at Coventry.
“This deal drove our decision to create a new world class window regulator production facility on Courtaulds Way and I’m pleased to say this is now up and running, with 100 highly trained staff working on state-of-the-art automated machinery.”
The new positions will be for roles ranging from shopfloor operatives and general assembly workers to team leaders and maintenance engineers.
