A NEW sixth form college for international pupils opens its doors in Coventry today.
WIC College, an International STEM Sixth Form College began its first school term on Monday (September 26) in its newly renovated premises at The Oaks on Westwood Business Park.
The international school has mainly welcomed pupils from East Asia, who will be living with families in the local area.
The college will specialise in STEM (Science Technology Economics and Mathematics) subjects and aspires for its pupils to achieve A* and A grades in these subjects before gaining entry into some of the top universities in the UK and America.
WIC College, formally known as Warwick International College, also hopes to establish itself as a centre for teaching gifted and talented students from the region and training STEM teachers, who are in great demand.
WIC is registered by the Department for Education to teach students in years 11, 12 and 13 and has passed the OFSTED inspection.
It has also been granted the initial Tier 4 Highly Trusted Sponsor status by the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) department of the Home Office.
