NATIONAL Express West Midlands workers won’t be going on strike in Coventry this week after the Unite union suspended industrial action.
The industrial action, due to be taken over a pay dispute, was scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 16, but has been suspended to allow for an ‘improved offer’ to be balloted on by members.
A Unite spokesperson said if the offer is rejected, indefinite strike action would begin on Monday (March 20).
The action was due to be taken by more than 3,200 drivers and over 200 engineers.
Unite regional officer Sulinder Singh said: “Following significant progress with the company in negotiations, an improved pay offer was made.
“Strike action scheduled to begin this Thursday has been postponed to allow our members to vote on the offer.”
