Nominate inspirational Coventry women for awards

Coventry Editorial 25th Feb, 2023   0

PEOPLE are being urged to nominate inspirational women who are making a difference in their chosen fields so they can be put in the running for a prestigious award.

The Women’s Awards 2023 have several categories including Outstanding Women in ‘arts, media and music’, ‘care services’, ‘education’, and ‘community impact – charity and voluntary’.

Accolades are also up for grabs for the Outstanding Black and Minority Ethnicity (BAME) Female Leader Of The Year, Outstanding Female Disability Champion, Outstanding Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Outstanding Female LGBTIA+ Champion and the Outstanding Female Leader in a Market Town.

This year, the Gala Awards and Presentation ceremony will take place on September 22 at The Heart of England Conference Centre in Coventry, Warwickshire.

Leanne Bonner-Cooke MBE, chair of board of the awards parent company SHINE, said: “We all need to do more to encourage the promotion of women to get the reward, recognition, and respect they deserve.

“Quite often we go about our day-to-day business and we don’t shout about what we do, or what we have achieved.

“We should all be proud, and promote ourselves and others, which encourages the next generation and raises the profile of women in businesses.”

Founder of The Women’s Awards, Sandra Pollock OBE, said: “One of the catalysts that led to me starting my own business was that I was fed up with women not being seen for the things they do.

“It’s time to honour and celebrate the contributions women make to our workplaces, communities and society. So, nominate the woman you think deserves some much-earned recognition.”

Nominations close on June 30 and are quick and simple to complete in an online application form.
