Notice served to Bedworth Civic Hall CIO

Holly Clement 18th Sep, 2024   0

A NOTICE has been served to Bedworth Civic Hall CIO after its inability to sign a lease agreement to continue operating the hall.

Bedworth Civic Hall CIO was the chosen bidder to operate the town centre venue after a public engagement exercise to be submitted to the council for consideration.

The submission included contributions fro Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council towards insurance and paying three months worth of utility costs as well as a year old rent-free period before payments toward the rent would start.

300 hours worth of officer time and legal expenses has gone into reaching the lease agreement.

Bedworth Civic Hall reopened its doors for its return show on July 19.

The CIO had until August 9 to sign the lease agreement and after failure an extension until August 28 was given, which was again not signed.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council will now consider its options to ensure Bedworth Civic Hall is operational again for the people of Bedworth and surrounding areas.
