NUNEATON and Bedworth Borough Council have secured a renewed five year revalidation under the Ministry of Defence’s Gold Employer Recognition Scheme.
The Gold Award recognises organisations that provide support to the armed forces community and how it they have sustained the support while continuing to implement and advocate forces-friendly schemes for their workforce and local communities.
Gold status is also awarded to organisations which implement HR policies that accommodate the needs of the Armed Forces Community while continuously promoting this advocacy within their own networks and industry.
The status is reviewed every five years, in 2010 the council was awarded gold and it has been renewed.
Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Councillor Chris Watkins, said: “The authority is delighted to be recognised in receiving the scheme’s top award.
“This demonstrates our continued and increased commitment to armed forces personnel.”
The Council offers a range of human resources policies, such as guaranteed interview schemes for veterans applying for job vacancies and an allowance of up to 24 days paid leave for reservists and adult cadet force volunteers.
