A NUNEATON shoplifter has been jailed for a string of offences.

Daniel Jones, 28, of no fixed address was arrested last week and charged with six shoplifting offences, and has been jailed for 18 weeks.

He appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to the offences which took place between June, 1 and June, 20.

He stole items including coffee, alcohol, curtains, hair straighteners, toothbrushes and laundry pods to the value of more than £400.

PC Scott Roddy said: “Shoplifting is not a victimless crime, it impacts on businesses and the wider community.

“This result shows how we will be robust in pursuing offenders and putting them before the courts.”
