A TEENAGE boy from Nuneaton has been arrested after alleged attempted bike thefts.

The 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of going equipped and possession of Class B or C drugs.

This follows an incident at around midday yesterday (January 25) during which a boy was allegedly seen at a supermarket on Newtown Road in possession of bolt crops.

He was allegedly trying to open bicycle locks.

The boy was located at the nearby railway station.

He reportedly attempted to run away but was detained and the bolt croppers seized.

Sgt Studd said: “We are aware of the problems with bike thieves around Nuneaton, and with the help of the community we can take effective action against them.

“If you see someone suspiciously lugging a set of bolt crops or other tools around bike racks, get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
