THREE teenagers have pleaded guilty to manslaughter following a vicious attack on a Nuneaton man which ‘shocked the community’.

In April 2023 John Hackett was found dead in his home the day after being attacked by youngsters in the Snow Hill Recreation Ground on Nuneaton’s Camp Hill Road.

Shortly after, three young defendants, a 16-year-old girl and two 15-year-old boys, were arrested.

This morning (January 8), the three teenagers – who cannot be named because of their age – pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Det Ch Insp Collette O’Keefe said: “This vicious, appalling attack left John’s family and friends heartbroken, and the wider community shocked.

“Our thoughts remain with those closest to John at this incredibly difficult time.”
