TO CELEBRATE World Bamboo Day, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council announced an event to explore the potential of bamboo growth in the UK.
World Bamboo Day is celebrated on September 18 – Imagine Bamboo will see artists, designers, engineers and crafters to come together at the event in Riversley Park in Nuneaton on September 14 from 12pm until 5pm.
The free event will allow visitors to make their own bamboo models and admire artworks from local artisits.
Coun Tim Jenkins, portfolio holder for leisure, communities, and health, said: “We are extremely proud to have been supporting Imagine Bamboo Nuneaton and Bedworth since the beginning of this project when it was held at Miners’ Welfare Park in July 2023.
“Local people and national and international artists have taken part in the preparation for this event over the past nine months.
“There will be plenty for visitors to see and do as this very exciting project comes to the borough.
“Riversley Park will be brimming with creativity and promoting environmental sustainability at a community level.”
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Warwickshire County Council, Artichoke, and Imagineer have been supported by an Arts Council England Place Partnership Award to develop key projects through The Creative Explorers Project.
