One man dead and four people injured after serious crash in Coventry

A MAN died and four other people were injured in a two-car crash in Coventry last night (Saturday).

The collision happened around 10.15pm at Firefly Road – the 33-year-old driver of a Seat Leon Cupra was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

His passenger, a man in his 30s, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-changing.

Three people from the second car, a blue Citroen C3, suffered serious injuries but they were not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver, a man in his 50s, and two women passengers in their 60s, remain in hospital today in a stable condition.

Police appeal

West Midlands Police have spoken to witnesses and investigators are reviewing CCTV from around the area as they work to establish exactly what happened.




Officers want anyone who was driving on or near Firefly Road last night to check their dash cams as they may offer vital details about the collision.
