ONE PERSON died and five people were injured after a crash involving a Land Rover in Binley at 10.57pm on Thursday night.

Warwickshire Police believe the collision happened when the car involved was heading from Brinklow towards Coventry.

Five ambulances, three paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and the Air Ambulance Service Critical Care Car were sent to the scene.

The man, one of the passengers, had sustained life-threatening injuries. Paramedics administered advanced life support to him but nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Ambulance staff administered advanced trauma care to them at the scene before they were taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) for further treatment.

Another man who was a passenger in the car sustained injuries not believed to be serious and he was also taken to UHCW.

Insp Michael Huntley from Warwickshire Police said: “This is a tragic loss of a young life and our thoughts are with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.”

He urged witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw the Land Rover in the general area at that time to visit warwickshire.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime or call police on 101.
