A PAIR of men had an ‘incredibly lucky’ escape and avoided serious injuries when their car left the road and ended up in a ditch in Coventry.
Emergency were called to Somers Road in Meriden near to Stonebridge Golf Centre shortly after 8.05pm on Friday (November 27).
When crews arrived they found a car in a ditch with two men inside.
The pair then managed to free themselves from the vehicle and thankfully had not been seriously injured. They were both taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham as a precaution.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said there was heavy rain and a lot of water on the ground when ambulance staff arrived.
“Not only is it extremely fortunate that both men escaped with minor injuries, but also that they were both able to free themselves from the vehicle,” he added.
An ambulance and a paramedic area support officer attended the scene.
