A PEDESTRIAN suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Coventry.

The incident happened on Hipswell Highway, Coventry, at just after 6.15pm on Tuesday evening (December 18).

An ambulance arrived in six minutes and was backed up by The Air Ambulance Service critical care car.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, the crew found a man who had suffered potentially serious injuries.

“They assessed him and together with the doctor from the critical care car, carried out advanced treatments at the scene.

“The man was then taken on blue lights to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW); the doctor travelled with the crew.

“The driver of the car was uninjured in the incident.”
