A PENSIONER was injured after a car reversed out of a parking space and struck her in Coventry.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 86-year-old woman was knocked to the ground near the Empress shopping precinct off Binley Road.

She walked across the car park from the Iceland store towards Binley Road when she was struck by a light coloured car, likely to be a Volvo V40 saloon, at around 10.30am last Wednesday (10 February).

The driver initially helped the woman ? who suffered a back injury ? to her feet but then fled.

He is described as white and of large build.

Anyone with information is urged to call police at Coventry on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
