A MAN from London was arrested on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat following an incident in Nuneaton.

The arrest followed the discovery of a suspicious package in a shop on Queens Road at 2.30pm on Friday.

A 100metre cordon was put in place in the town centre while the package was assessed and dealt with by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

The package was found to have not been an explosive device, and the cordon was lifted at around 6pm.

The 40-year-old was taken into custody.

Warwickshire Police thanked the local community for its patience and assistance while the incident was resolved.
