YOUNG Coventry thrill-seekers made a splash this week at the opening of the city’s multi-million pound waterpark.
The Wave, on New Union Street, welcomed its first slide-riders on Monday (October 21), eager to experience the flumes and the UK’s largest wave machine.
The £36 million aquatic centre has six water slides, in addition to a spa and a 25 metre swimming pool.
It was designed with help from the children of Westwood School, with accessibility for disabled children a focus.
The pupils helped to ensure that all areas of the waterpark were easily accessible, via a ramp that spirals around the interior of the park.
Adult tickets for slides at The Wave are £14.50 peak/ £10.50 off-peak; a junior ticket is £11 peak/ £9 off-peak. Disabled people and those with a GoCV card receive a discount.
