A GROUP of Coventry youngsters are set to release a pioneering new album called ‘In These Towns’, tackling subjects such as loss, grief, identity and gang violence.
The album, released tomorrow (January 11), features eight songs from some of the city’s finest young musicians, incorporating genres such as Spoken Word, RnB and rap.
The topics raised in the album give each young person’s perspective on difficult issues in the world today.
‘In these Towns’ was recorded at Studio X in the city and produced by JAY1’s producer ‘Coolie’.
It is a part of the ‘Positive Choices’ project, which aims to support children and young people by allowing them to take part in several musical after-school sessions.
The project also looks to add to the legacy of music in Coventry, which was the birthplace of 2-tone and pioneering bands like The Specials.
‘In These Towns’ will be available to stream on Spotify, YouTube and Soundcloud.
