Plenty of FREE activities on during the 2021 Sport Fest between now and Sunday in Coventry city centre

MORE THAN 1,800 residents have already got active on the first day of the 2021 Coventry Sports Fest.

After the launch earlier this week, a number of activities were delivered by Coventry and North Warwickshire Sports Club, Coventry Elite Basketball, CV Life and Positive Youth Foundation, including basketball, tennis, cricket and fitness classes.

There were also stalls and presence from Coventry City Hosts, West Midlands Police, Wellbeing for Life, Family Health and Lifestyle Service, Public Health services and Go CV.

The free annual sporting event will be in Coventry city centre every day between 10am and 4pm until Sunday, August 1, boasting a huge range of free activities for all ages and abilities each day.

There will also be stalls offering free health and wellbeing information along with Go CV services each day from 11am to 3pm.

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games team will join the event tomorrow (Friday, July 30), along with Perry, the Birmingham 2022 mascot.

Coun Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, said: “Day one was a great success here at Sports Fest.

“We saw loads of happy faces enjoying being part of an event for the first time in a while.

“I had a great time taking part in the sports as well. I look forward to coming along and seeing more of Coventry’s fantastic sporting clubs and organisations during the week as well as all of the health and well-being stalls.”
