Police appeal for help to identify potential victims of attempted kidnapping in Coventry

POLICE have launched an investigation following an attempted kidnap in The Mount, Coventry, on Monday (February 9) shortly after 12.55pm.

A suspect attempted to drag a man into a property, but the man managed to flee.

Officers arrested a 24-year-old man who has since been charged with attempt kidnap and criminal damage. He was remanded to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday February 11).

CCTV showed a second potential victim who was crossing the Queen Isabels Avenue junction at 12.30pm.




He attempted to walk past a suspect who was standing outside a property in The Mount, who then appeared to pull a suspected weapon from his waistband.

The second victim was seen to jump backwards and run away.


Police would like to identify both men in the images as potential victims.
