POLICE are appealing for witnesses of a hit-and-run that has left a woman with serious injuries.
Officers were called to reports of a transit van hitting a female pedestrian in Binley Road, Stoke, at around 9.55pm last Monday (June 6).
The van left the scene and a 35-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious facial and back injuries – where she continues to be treated.
Now traffic officers are urging anyone with information to the hit-and-run, near the junction of Phoenix Way, to come forward.
PC Chris Brock said: “This was a nasty collision and the driver of the vehicle left the woman at the scene with serious injuries.
“We believe she was in collision with a white van, which was not in best condition, and happened on a busy road .
“We need anyone who saw anything to call us on 101.”
