DETECTIVES investigating the disappearance of a missing Coventry warehouse worker believe the body found in a Leicester allotment is that of Sameena Imam.
Searches conducted on an allotment site off Groby Road, Leicester resulted in a body being found on Friday, January 16 and, while formal identification is yet to take place, police believe the body to be Sameena’s.
A post mortem carried out at the weekend was inconclusive and toxicology tests to determine the cause of death are expected to take several weeks.
Sameena, aged 34, was last seen at her place of work in the Coventry branch of Costco on Christmas Eve.
Two men, charged with her murder, appeared via videolink at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday, January 13 and have been remanded in custody with a provisional trial date set for the end of June.
Roger Cooper, 40, of Tile Hurst Drive, Coventry, and David Cooper, 38, of Hughenden Drive, Leicester, were arrested at their home addresses on January 7.
Her family have been informed of this development.
