Police dog sniffs out samurai sword following reports of man brandishing blade

A SAMURAI sword was sniffed out by a police dog in Coventry on Wednesday night (July 7) after reports of a man waving a blade around.

Police were called to a home in Elkington Street.

PD Vapour caught the scent of the sword, which was hidden under a wooden board.

Barry Cooper, 33, of Barker Butts Lane, has been charged with possession of a bladed weapon and has been bailed to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court on August 4.
