A CANNABIS farm has been found by police in Coventry.
Officers from Coventry Local Policing Area joined with colleagues from the National Grid to raid a property in Nunts Park Avenue after reports of suspicious behaviour in the area.
Inside, they found a comprehensive cannabis grow with more than 70 plants spread out throughout the house.
No one was inside the house during the raid, and enquiries are ongoing to find the people responsible.
Anyone who has information which could help the enquiries is asked to call 101 quoting log number 2720 of January 3.
A Coventry Police spokesperson said: “Cannabis farms represent a serious safety hazard as they require huge amounts of electricity to be diverted from the grid to power them. This can cause catastrophic house fires and are a serious risk to life.
“As well as the safety, the associated crime and anti-social behaviour linked to cannabis farms can have a detrimental impact on the surrounding area.
“Wherever we receive reports about suspicious activity like this, we investigate and work to build an intelligence picture telling us where this kind of crime is happening.
“With regular targeted operations and patrols, we can keep drugs off the streets of Coventry.”
