WEST Midlands Police have confirmed that “nothing of note” was found following a major excavation project of land near the Ricoh Arena following a tip-off.

Officers and a forensic team cordoned-off the site off Hales Industrial Estate near the stadium on Tuesday, Feburary 17 and left the site on Friday, February 20.

In a statement from the force, a spokesperson said: “Police were excavating an area of land off Hales Industrial Estate in Rowleys Green Lane, Foleshill.

“This was acting on information recently received from a member of the public.

“It is not believed the excavation was connected to any on-going investigation at this point.”
