CRACK cocaine has been seized by police in Coventry following the arrest of a 14-year-old boy.

Coventry Police’s North East neighbourhood team stopped and searched the teenager in Walsgrave Road on Wednesday (October 29).

They recovered 25 wraps of suspected crack cocaine from the area.

The boy was arrested and has since been bailed with conditions.

A Coventry Police spokesperson said: “Criminal gangs often exploit vulnerable people including children to transport and sell drugs on their behalf.

“Drug dealing and drug usage is a blight on the community and our North East neighbourhood team is continuing its work to tackle the issue.

“Our officers often rely on the information they receive from the public telling us where and when this kind of activity is happening.

“This information helps plan our operations and patrols in problem areas and help safeguard people who would otherwise fall prey to gangs.

“Drug dealing and drug use has a knock-on impact where it happens, with crime and anti-social behaviour coming along with it.”

Call police on 101 to report suspected drug dealing.
