Police seize five more electric scooters being ridden illegally in Coventry city centre

POLICE in Coventry yesterday seized five electric scooters which were being ridden illegally.

Officers acted during an operation on Far Gosford Street in the city centre.

Private electric scooters cannot be ridden on the roads unless they are fully taxed and insured.

The only ones permitted are the VOI scooters being used as part of the Government’s active travel trial.

Vehicles were also stopped and checked during yesterday’s operation.
