Coventry Editorial 19th Mar, 2021   0

POLICE have closed down a notorious drugs den in Coventry.

Officers from the St Michael’s Team attended an address in Wren Street, to enforce a Closure Order granted by Coventry Magistrates Court.

Police used legislation under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to take control of the property.

Now anyone entering the address could be arrested.

The team posted on social media: “This is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when the community and the police work together

“As local residents were passing by and witnessed the police gaining entry to the address they made several positive comments about how happy they were with the positive police action.”

Anyone aware of drug dealing in their area can report it by calling police on 101 or via live chat at west-midlands.police.uk.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
