POLICE will be using Section 60 powers in Coventry tonight until 2am tomorrow (Saturday).
They enable officers to stop and search people they suspect may be involved in violence, without the need to have reasonable grounds.
The powers will cover areas of the city centre, as on the map (above), and there will be increased police patrols in place.
Police say, following a large-scale funeral, they were anticipating significant gatherings in the city and would be using these powers to keep people safe.
