MOTORISTS in Coventry have been warned to step up their vehicle security after officers found five cars unlocked in just one area.
Officers from Stoke and Wyken NHT tried door handles and discovered the lapse actions of drivers as part of Operation Seclusion.
Police want motorists to take responsibility for their cars and vans and to reduce the chance of them becoming a victim of crime by locking their vehicles.
Other measures include not leaving valuables on display and a steering lock.
People with keyless cars should also keep their fob in a Faraday pouch or metal tin in the house to prevent thieves from being able to steal the signal easily.
