NATIONAL Express Coventry engineering manager Graham Livesey was given a special 60th birthday treat by having a brand-new fully electric bus named after him.

‘The Graham bus’ was unveiled to the birthday boy this week to celebrate his milestone and his many years of dedicated service to the company.

It is now out travelling the Coventry streets.

Graham has worked for National Express for over 44 years, starting his career as an engineering apprentice in 1979.

He’s worked at many garages across the West Midlands during his time with the firm including Walsall, West Bromwich, and Acocks Green before moving to Coventry.

The bus firm launched a competition to mark international men’s day, inviting Coventrians to nominate local men and boys to honour those who’ve been role models in the city.

They are to be named on some of the 176 electric buses National Express Coventry is delivering as part of the city’s mission to be the UK’s first all-electric bus city by 2025.

Graham was nominated to have a bus named after him through the competition.

He said: “I am truly humbled and grateful to National Express Coventry for this recognition. It was completely unexpected and I would like to thank everyone who nominated me.

“I’m proud of what we have achieved over the years and after working for the company the amount of time I have, it’s something special to see your name on the side of a bus.”
