A COVENTRY man who was caught shoplifting in Warwick, Kenilworth and Leamington has been jailed for 39 weeks.
Tommy Johnstone, 35 was arrested on October 20 after he was abusive to a shop manager who had asked him to leave a store in Emscote Road, Leamington.
Following enquiries, police linked him to seven other thefts of alcohol and food worth hundreds of pounds in the area between September 18 and October 20.
On October 13, an incident at a shop saw him threaten a staff member by saying “I’ll smash your face in” when they confronted him.
Johnstone was serving a suspended sentence for several other shoplifting offences at the time of the crimes.
