A SHOPLIFTER from Coventry has been jailed after a spree of retail park thefts.
Wes Bickley was jailed on August 21 for six months after being convicted of more than a dozen thefts from shops in the city.
Bickley, 41, was sentenced at Coventry Magistrates Court after being arrested for a series of offences, most happened at Boots at the Warwickshire Retail Park.
The thefts took place between June and August this year and included stealing car air fresheners, cosmetics, razors and shampoo.
West Midlands Police said the rate of shoplifting has hit its highest level for two decades nationally and has increased by 28 per cent in 2023.
The force recorded 11,763 offences between April and June compared to 639 last year.
