A COVENTRY band is hosting a special show to celebrate the launch of their self-titled EP.
The Caprines will be performing at The Tin Music and Arts at the Coal Vaults on Saturday (April 22) at 8pm following performances at Birmingham’s 02 Academy.
Describing their music as a combination of The Strokes and The Buzzcocks, the four-piece have been developing their sound since August 2015.
Inspired by the joys and challenges of life as a ‘twenty-something’ the EP features four songs and will be performed for the first time in full at ‘The Tin’.
With John Lindley on Guitar and Vocals, Dave Toulson on Lead Guitar, Curtis McLellan on Bass and Ed Kimberley on drums, the band formed after the four became strong friends at school.
John said: “We’re very excited to perform our new EP in such a fantastic venue like The Tin, which has seen so many great artists on take to the stage.
“This is a great opportunity for audiences to experience an evening of live, local music and hopefully enjoy a great night out.
“Coventry has such a vibrant local music scene which is why we’re delighted to be sharing the stage with two other Coventry based musicians.”
Also performing on the night will be Izzie, fresh from supporting Olly Murs at the Genting Arena.
The young singer songwriter, who is also preparing to launch her latest EP, will be showcasing her unique style of music inspired by the sounds of the 60s and 70s.
Also performing will be Quarry.
Formed in 2013, the band blends pop rock and hip hop to create a distinct sound and were recently heard performing on the Main Stage at last year’s Godiva Festival.
Visit The Tin’s website for further information and tickets, which cost £6.
