PROUD cheerleaders from Coventry have brought home two titles from the first-ever European Summit.
Coventry Dynamite Cheerleading Club won two European titles and a fourth-place finish at the inaugural European Summit in Lisbon, Portugal.
A total of 73 athletes, six coaches and almost 100 supporters travelled from Coventry to compete at the prestigious international event, which brought together some of the best cheerleading teams from across Europe.
Coventry Dynamite represented the city with three teams.
Teams C4 and Black Ops were crowned European Summit Champions, taking first place in their respective Level 3 divisions.
And Fusion, the club’s Under 12 Level 2 team, secured an impressive fourth place finish, with only 0.62 points dividing the top three places.
The event marked the first-ever European Summit competition, making the achievements even more special for the Coventry-based programme.
Laura Pittaway, speaking on behalf of Coventry Dynamite, said: “We are incredibly proud of every athlete who represented Coventry at the first-ever European Summit.
“To take three teams to an international competition is a fantastic achievement in itself, but to come home with two championship titles is something truly special.
“Opportunities like this allow our athletes to experience different cultures, compete against teams from across Europe and create memories that will stay with them for life.
“The dedication, commitment and teamwork shown by all three teams was outstanding, and we couldn’t be prouder of their performances in Lisbon.”
