'Proud of Coventry’s resilience and residents’ compassion' - Christmas message from MP Taiwo Owatemi

Coventry Editorial 25th Dec, 2020   0

IT IS undeniable that it has been a difficult and painful year for Coventry.

I’m grateful to residents, sports clubs and small businesses for showing the very best of our city during one of our darkest hours.

We have come together as a community, even whilst kept apart.

I’m so proud of Coventry’s resilience and residents’ compassion for our neighbours, especially the elderly and those most in need.

As we all unwind with family for the Christmas break, I want to acknowledge the true heroes of the pandemic – those who won’t stop

working even over Christmas – our key workers.

Thank you for putting your city first – for keeping us safe, well, stocked and connected.

I wish everyone in Coventry a safe and peaceful Christmas.

I look forward to 2021, optimistic that restrictions will lift and Coventry can once more become the thriving, bustling city we are proud to call home.

In this new year, we’ll share that pride as we showcase our many talents to the country, and the wider world, that Coventry is truly the City of Culture.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
