Queenz officially open Coventry's Assembly Festival Garden for its new season after last year's success

THE STARS of Queenz were at Coventry’s Assembly Festival Garden this week to celebrate the reopening of the venue which proved popular last year when it was introduced as part of the UK City of Culture.

The Garden – which boasts Europe’s largest spiegeltent – hosted a multitude of events from live music to screenings, a circus extravaganza and even the ‘Big Tent Ideas Festival’, aimed at combating extreme politics and bringing people together to discuss issues affecting the UK.

As well as The Queen of Flanders, an iconic and beautiful 1,000 seater double-decker Spiegeltent, the venue also encompasses the Piccolo, a smaller 180 seat Spiegeltent, a treehouse which looks out over the site and an outdoor venue in front of the Piccolo to the entire audience in the garden.

Queenz – Bella du Ball, Billie Eyelash, Candy Caned, Dior Montay, and ZeZe Van Cartier – were there to promote their show which runs from April 14 to May 15.

Queenz, who ‘dance like Britney and sing like Whitney’ wowed the judges on ITV’s hit show Walk The Line.

Audiences can expect five vocal powerhouses armed with songs, sass and plenty to say who serve up ‘remixed and reimagined classics from The Spice Girls, GaGa, Shakira, Little Mix, Britney, Whitney and everything in between’.
