A WARM gesture has been made to older people in the region by a local charity.
Age UK Coventry and Warwickshire has distributed 300 winter packs to help the elderly stay safe and warm during the colder months.
The packs, funded by Coventry Building Society, include essential winter warmers such as blankets, hats, gloves, and other practical resources to support older people living in or at risk of fuel poverty.
Reece Mclarnon, Director of Services at Age UK Coventry and Warwickshire, said: “We are extremely grateful to Coventry Building Society for funding these packs.
“Winter can be a particularly challenging time for older people, with low temperatures, rising energy costs, and health vulnerabilities putting them at increased risk.
“These winter packs aim to provide comfort and reassurance, helping recipients stay warm and safe in their homes.
“They make a real difference in helping older people cope with the cold months ahead. No one should have to choose between heating their home and other essentials.”
The winter packs are being distributed directly to those most in need, with the support of local volunteers and Age UK staff.
