RESIDENTS have been urged to take precautions following a burglary in Tile Hill in which ‘valuable equipment’ was stolen in broad daylight.

The burglary took place on Thursday (June 14) between 12pm and 3pm in Jobs Lane and was executed using the resident’s own tools seized from the garage.

Westwood ward Conservative councillor David Skinner has issued a warning and encouraged residents to notify others.

He said it was the latest in a string of burglaries in the area.

West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating after a burglary at an address in Jobs Lane, Tile Hill took place between 12pm and 3pm.

“Screwdrivers were taken from a garage and then a downstairs window was forced open. Various items were stolen including a Blaupunkt cone speaker and two laptop speakers.

“Police enquiries are on-going. Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101 giving crime reference number 20CV/133336L/18.”

Coun Skinner, writing to residents, added: “Among the items stolen were two laptops; a tablet; much other valuable equipment; car keys and house keys; jewellery and important family memorabilia.

“They were all taken in a holdall, with a distinctive blue Rolls Royce Logo on the side.

“I do not know if this is in any way linked to the burglaries in Tile Hill and Canley on May 25, which I previously reported, but if anyone has any information, please ring 101 and ask for Westwood Police or email; [email protected].

“Our Police friends are constantly active and were at the Trees and Cotes Neighbourhood Watch meeting on Saturday (June 16).

“Please take every possible precaution and tell other residents.”
