MORE acts join the line-up for Radio 1 Big Weekend at Coventry’s War Memorial Park with 80,000 music fans expected to attend the three day flagship.

The acts announced today for the extravaganza between May 27 and 29 include George Ezra, Lorde, Dermot Kennedy and Mabel.

Tickets go on sale at 8.30am this Friday, March 18.

For the Saturday and Sunday, tickets will be £21.50 (plus a £4.50 booking fee per ticket) and Friday tickets will cost £12.50 (plus a £2.50 booking fee per ticket).

Dermot Kennedy said: “I’m so excited to be part of Radio 1’s Big Weekend this year. To be part of such a great line-up feels beautiful, and I can’t wait to put on a show for you all.”

Aled Haydn Jones, head of the station, said: “We are kicking off the UK’s festival season in true Radio 1 style with an incredible line-up of acts already on the bill, and more exciting names to be revealed.

“We can’t wait to bring our flagship live music event to Coventry for 2022.”

Tickets will be geographically weighted with a percentage available to each of the local areas.

Residents living in the Coventry City Council area will have 60 percent of tickets reserved, 25 percent of tickets will be reserved for those living in surrounding areas including the remaining Coventry postcodes, Birmingham postcodes and selected Leicester postcodes, whilst the remaining 15 percent of tickets will be available for the rest of the UK.
