REVEALED - The final version of Coventry Foodbank's 12 Days of Christmas video

THE FINAL version of Coventry Foodbank’s 12 Days of Christmas is now available to view in its entirety.

The reworked Christmas classic was written by the foodbank’s founder Gavin Kibble MBE, the song has been posted on social media in segments from December 1 to 12.

In true Christmas spirit, more than 100 volunteers and staff are putting together a treat to remind Coventry foodbank’s generous supporters to donate food and cash to the cause.

Gavin said: “‘My true love gave to me’ has been swapped for ‘My foodbank gave to me’, helping to suggest what donations could be given to the all-important charity.

“It was a great deal of fun.”

Amidst all of the fun, of course, there is a serious message the staff are trying to push this Christmas – over 1million eight to 17-year-olds and their families needed food provided for them from foodbanks last Christmas.

During the pandemic there was a 20 per cent rise in people requiring help from the organisation.

This song is also aimed at promoting the foodbank’s ‘Life Giver’ scheme in which £30 worth of food can be donated from a monthly £10 payment from Coventry residents.

Gavin said: “Volunteers work tirelessly across our city serving those in need – all to ensure that everyone can have a Merry Christmas this year.”
