Ricoh receives Royal visit for the first time

THE RICOH ARENA received its first ever Royal visit on Wednesday (May 18) as Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal appeared at a national transport conference in Coventry.

A patron of the international development charity Transaid, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal addressed 1,000 delegates at the Microlise Transport Conference inside the Jaguar Exhibition Hall.

The conference hosted a series of speakers and workshops that discussed various issues and trends in the transport sector.

The Princess Royal spent time talking to various exhibitors at the conference before addressing all delegates and emphasising the importance of the practical support that Transaid receives from the UK transport and logistics industry.




Andy Gibb, managing director of the Ricoh Arena greeted Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal on her arrival in Coventry.

He said: “It was an honour to meet Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and show her around the Ricoh Arena.


“This visit has huge significance as it is the first time the venue has hosted a member of the Royal Family.

“We are extremely proud to have had the opportunity to represent the city of Coventry in in front of one of the most respected figures in the UK.

“This opportunity is also a reflection of the plethora of events that are now taking place at the Ricoh Arena – we look forward to welcoming other high profile visitors in the future.”
