Rising star Emma continues her bid for a life on stage

EMMA Farman might just be a name to remember.

The 12-year-old from Stivichall made her first appearance in a professional theatre show when she won a walk-on part in Fame! The Musical at The Belgrade Theatre last week in its Fifteen Minutes Of Fame competition.

But her brief role in Bill Kenwright’s new production of the 80’s musical was just the latest stage appearance by the Finham Park School pupil who has ambitions to make it as either a singer, dancer or actor.

Emma is already a regular performer with Pattinson Theatre School and the Celtica Irish Dance Academy, starred in Jack and The Beanstalk at the Belgrade last year and recently won a competition in Birmingham that could have seen her travel to LA.

And she is also currently preparing to star in Wing It Theatre’s production of hit Broadway musical Hairspray at The Albany Theatre on August 14.

Mum Liz told us: “Emma would like to make a career for herself on stage, whether it’s singing, dancing or acting, and is really keen to learn from whatever opportunity she gets to know how to succeed so being in Fame! was a real experience for her and one she loved every minute of.”

Entrants to Fifteen Minutes Of Fame were invited to send a a picture or video of themselves in their best Fame! pose. Emma also had her own star dressing room, rehearsed with the cast and had complimentary tickets for friends or family.
