Roadrage ranter Ronnie Pickering cancels Coventry gig after public storm

Revellers in Coventry won’t be able to find out who internet roadrage sensation Ronnie Pickering is after all – after he was forced to cancel his appearance at a popular city nightclub following a public backlash.

Pickering, who became infamous on the internet after a video of his road rage rant went viral, was due to appear at the Kasbah in Hillfields for a meet and greet on Friday, October 23.

But the grandad-of-five, who lives in Hull, has cancelled the event after receiving a flurry of abuse from the public.

His catchphrase “Do you know who I am?” was actually abuse hurled from his driver’s seat at a motorist, who had a camera on his helmet and posted a video of their argument on YouTube.

Amarjit Kullar, of the Kasbah, said: “Ronnie has decided he doesn’t want to go ahead. He’s had quite a lot of public attention and I don’t think he was quite expecting the reaction that he received to his appearance here.

“It was all over the web and on national media and he doesn’t want to fuel that any further by appearing on Friday so has decided to pull the event.

“From our point of view, it’s still going to be another great Kinky clubnight at the Kasbah – even if Ronnie isn’t there to tell everyone who he is.”
