Coventry’s summer of music will now also feature internationally renowned artist Rufus Wainwright at the cathedral.
He will be performing at Coventry Cathedral on Friday June 22 as part of its Plumbline Festival 2018.
The multi-award winning vocalist, composer and songwriter joins a stellar line-up of music set to take place in the city, which includes Paloma Faith, The Rolling Stones, Liam Gallagher and Coventry home-bodies The Specials.
Rufus has collaborated with artists ranging from Elton John, David Byrne, Mark Ronson and Joni Mitchell to Burt Bacharach. His work spans across eight studio albums, three DVD’s and three live albums. As the first artist to complete a five-concert residency at The Royal Opera House, London, this event brings another layer to the already fantastic offering of Coventry’s summer of live music.
“We are thrilled to have Rufus Wainwright joining us at Coventry Cathedral. This is our second time working with DHP and hope there are many more to come. It’s exciting to be bringing this show to the city”, said Asha Eade-Green, Events Manager, Coventry Cathedral
