SAVE OUR BEES: Final reminder to support Bees campaign public survey this Sunday

Coventry Editorial 29th Sep, 2017 Updated: 29th Sep, 2017   0

SUPPORTERS of the Coventry Bees speedway team are reminded about a public survey hosted by the Coventry Observer on Sunday.

On Sunday, October 1, we will be asking residents living near to the speedway venue a handful of simple tickbox questions that will take seconds to answer.

Similar to our gathering outside the stadium in March, we will meet outside the stadium’s main entrance.

Our survey will take place from 12.30pm and last no later than 2.30pm to ensure everyone can get home in good time.

Fans not wishing to help with the survey are still invited to show their face in support of our campaign from midday.

The afternoon will require volunteers to knock on doors of local residents asking three simple yes or no questions.

These include:

1. Have you ever been to watch the Coventry Bees speedway team?

2. Would you welcome the development of 250 homes in place of Coventry Stadium as a racing facility?

3. Do you feel security at the site is an issue?

4. Any other comment would you like to add..?

Observer sports editor Shaun Reynolds – who is leading the Save Our Bees campaign – said: “Please do not feel that if you come you must help us in asking questions.

“We only require a dozen volunteers to help ask key questions we want to know the answers to.

“I’d welcome all fans to attend on Sunday and would be interested to hear stories from years gone by about the Bees.

“All fans we met in March had a story to tell, it was wonderful to hear. But at the same time it was heartbreaking to know these memories will not, at the present time, be added to.”

We ask supporters, if possible, to bring a ‘speedway programme’ clipboard to allow for a hard surface to write on. We will provide the question papers.
