#SaveOurBees - How you can get involved with our campaign to get the Bees back on track next season

CONCERNED fans of the Coventry Bees can help try and get their beloved club back on track by supporting our ‘Save Our Bees’ campaign, and here’s how you can help.

For decades, the Coventry Bees speedway team has been at the epicentre of British Speedway – with the club winning dozens of championships and its venue hosting World Cup and Grand Prix events.

However on Sunday morning it was announced the Bees would not be racing in this season’s SGB Premiership after the British Speedway Promoters Association (BSPA) concluded vital financial support from the club was withdrawn, and a return to Brandon this season was unlikely.

In light of the shocking news, The Coventry Observer quickly reacted to launch a ‘Save Our Bees’ campaign – which has already received the backing of former Bees skipper Chris Harris and Rugby MP Mark Pawsey.

And here’s how you – the fans – can get involved.

You can follow us on social media by searching for ‘Coventry Observer’ on Facebook or @Covobservernews on Twitter.

The official hashtag for the campaign is #SaveOurBees – this hashtag is being monitored regularly with the aim of using supporters views on social media for future articles in our print copy, which is released every Thursday.

You can also let other people know about the campaign by sharing, re-tweeting and commenting on our stories.

In addition, we are holding a special photo-call outside Coventry Stadium on Friday, March 10, at 3.30pm (group photo to be taken between 4pm and 4.30pm) with the aim of attracting as many Bees fans possible.

Due to already high-demand for the event, we are currently working on trying to get the car-park open – updates on this situation will be provided on our Twitter feed.

We understand many fans will not be able to attend the event due to work commitments, because of this we are inviting those who cannot attend to drop us a line on email – feel free to explain what the Bees means to you, you memories, your reaction to hearing Sunday’s news. We’d love to hear from you.

Email [email protected] with any comments you would like to feature in print.

We look forward to meeting all of our campaign supporters on Friday 11.
