A COVENTRY schoolgirl will be hoping to impress the judges at this weekend’s junior round of Miss Coventry and Warwickshire.

Rutiksha Bosamia will be taking part in her first ‘Miss’ competition after being inspired by her idols who previously took part in the event.

Aged 15, Rutiksha – who aspires to be a model or actor in the future – must raise funds for the Miss Coventry charity Beauty With A Purpose, a worldwide charity which provides aid to disadvantaged children all over the globe.

The Finham Park School student will also be helping to raise funds for Coventry-based children’s hospice – Zoe’s Place.

Rutiksha told The Observer that she has already completed a sponsored silence and a five kilometre cycle ride.

She added: “The foundation of all the ‘Miss’ pageants raise is for Beauty With A Purpose.

“The money raised throughout the competition in England will go to help Zoe’s Place children’s hospice which I think is great.

“I met some of the other competitors at a gathering we had in Rugby.

“We played games, had lunch and got to know each other a bit better – everyone was really friendly and came up with ideas to raise funds for charity.

“I would definitely recommend anyone to enter Miss Coventry.

“It’s not all about aspiring models – people with aspirations to be scientists and teachers all take part.”
