Security guard attacked in Coventry One Stop robbery

A SECURITY guard was attacked in a cash-in-transit robbery in Coventry.

The incident happened at One Stop on Parkhill Drive in Coventry at 6.10am on Thursday (July 25).

And now police have launched an appeal for information.

The security guard was attacked by a man who managed to get away with a box containing cash.

It’s believed the suspect got into a car that drove away up Parkhill Drive towards Lower Eastern Green Lane.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Detectives are appealing for witnesses who were in the area at the time and who saw the incident take place.

“They’re particularly keen to trace the driver of a small white highway maintenance van and a dog walker who were both in the vicinity of the shop at the time.

“Please share this appeal, and get in touch with the force via Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk 8am – midnight, or call 101 anytime. To remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Please quote log 20CV/176225Z/19.”
