SEVERN Trent will be replacing over 3km of ageing water pipes in Nuneaton to provide better water quality and reliability.

The 12-month project will see a £900,000 investment to help prevent future leaks and bursts, with work starting on April 25.

Work will begin at the Ainsley Way and Thorntons Way junction before continuing along the latter street as well as some side roads.

From July onwards the Severn Trent team will begin working outside Park Lane Primary School and the surrounding roads, before returning to Thorntons Way to complete the project.

Work outside the school will coincide with their summer holidays.

Rachel Lowe from Severn Trent said: “Customers in Nuneaton deserve a modern water supply that they can rely on.

We’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding as we get this essential work done as quickly and as safely as possible.”

She added that appropriate traffic management will be put in place by Severn Trent to keep engineers and road users safe, and they’ll be taking steps to minimise disruption in the area.
